April showers bring May flowers

April is the traditional month of showers. “April showers bring May flowers” is from a poem written by Thomas Tusser in 1157! However, at the time of writing the rain hasn’t stopped this year and everywhere is very soggy indeed. Tumble dryer season has been extended! Happy Easter too as we find ourselves in the joy of the season celebrating new life. Which may include roast lamb, easter biscuits and simnel cake? Which brings me to talk about cookers, ovens and hobs.

We repair many ovens, particularly when the oven element blows. There is usually no warning and the first thing you’ll probably know is your electric tripping and then when you turn it back on the oven doesn’t heat up. Other less obvious problems are when the oven doesn’t turn on, and you are left wondering why? Many ovens have an automatic setting that you can use to preset the oven to come on later. Sometimes these come on as if by magic and so its always worth checking before you call us out. In this case nothing will work. It can easily to reset by pressing the manual button, usually with a little symbol of a dish with wavy lines vertically rising from it, depicting heat.

We also sell lots of new ovens, hobs and cookers. Old ovens may not be very efficient both in keeping the right temperature and the cost of running.
